The essence of Trinidadian cuisine shines through in every dish, particularly in their renowned roti—a delightful wrap sandwich loaded with curried meats and vegetables.
Rehanah's menu boasts a wide variety of options. From the succulent Shrimp Roti at CA$19.50, to the enriching Goat Roti at CA$18.00, each dish is crafted with care. Reviews from customers like Terrence Dick, highlight the authenticity and taste, describing the roti as some of the best you’ll find on the West Coast.
Despite its small size and limited seating, which lends a cozy charm to the eatery, the warmth of the service more than makes up for it. Josephine Ma notes, the experience of indulging in a shrimp and veggie roti becomes a cherished memory rather than just a meal. At Rehanah's, you are welcomed like family—something diners deeply appreciate.
The restaurant operates with cash only and has short opening hours, adding to the sense of exclusivity. With glowing endorsements from patrons like Randy Sachs, who claims Rehanah's is the best roti on the West Coast, it is clear that the food speaks for itself.
The atmosphere may be simple, but the flavors are anything but. As Sarah S points out, the food offers a homey and comforting experience. As you bite into your roti, you're transported to the Caribbean, where each dish is a celebration of tradition and taste. So why wait? First off the food is good. They know what they’re doing and how to make traditional roti Trinidad and that is, there’s not much room to sit down a couple tables so if you’re looking for that, you’ll be disappointed. However, people are friendly. They’ll share their seat at the two tables, it’s made fresh and that’s what’s important. Probably the best you’ll find in Vancouver Canada. The service is the service in the atmosphere is what it is, but the food is good and that’s most important for sure to drop a tip. It’s worth it.

My husband offered to take my daughter and I to Rehanah's Roti Shop in Port Moody, and I jumped at the opportunity to go there. It had been a few years since we last went there and I'd been itching to go there for awhile. As the name of the shop implies, they serve Roti, but not just any Roti...they serve Trinidadian style Roti. My mother was born and raised in Trinidad, so Trinidadian food holds a special place in my heart. Trinidadian Roti is basically a wrap sandwich that's filled with curried meat, vegetable or seafood filling. There's dhalpourie roti or paratha roti (also known as bussup shut). Rehanah's Roti sells dhalpourie roti. Difference between dhalpourie and bussup shut? The explanation I've heard is that bussup shut is "busted up" into tattered pieces. Roti: We ordered Shrimp Roti and Mixed Veggie Roti. Awesome flavour; however the filling is heavy with potatoes and sparse on the other ingredients. The Vegetarian Rotis are all under $10; however, the meat and seafood Rotis can be a bit pricey considering how much of the Roti is filled with potato. Service: Fair (One woman running the entire shop. She takes the order, runs the till, and makes the food.) Parking: Free street parking Location: On St. Johns St., which is a main street lined with shops and restaurants in Port Moody. It's a very small restaurant and as a result of the pandemic they only do takeout. There is however, a small table and chairs to sit and wait while your order is being prepared. There are so few places that serve Trinidadian food. This place is a precious commodity!

Rehanah’s been serving up authentic Trinidadian roti for 30 years out of this tiny location on St Johns. All the food is tasty but she has short hours and it’s cash only. The goat and chicken rotis are always good. Can be extra spicy / hot if you ask her. Last time she mentioned the building is going to be demo’d in 1.5 years and she will retire. Get it while you can.

Cash only and short opening hours. She also does catering, and her place is popular—so if you want to try her food, be sure to come around noon or before 2 PM to make sure you get what you want! This is by far the best and most authentic food! She made me shrimp, chicken, and veggie roti. The food gives you a homey and comforting experience!

I've eaten a few Roti in my life and I'm very sure that Rehanahs is the best in the west coast hands down. Only time I've tasted anything close to hers was in Toronto. Rehanahs got west coast on lock.

Tried coming here during business hours and was closed every time Update: after 4 or 5 attempts I finally got to try.. and it did not disappoint.. the chicken roti tasted like home cooking. Not the best I've ever tried but definitely the best on the mainland
